Most websites phenotypically look good in designs and themes, but they are nowhere to be found when searched. For publishers, bloggers and writers, you will surely want your articles and posts to appear in search engines.

Google uses robots that automatically crawl your website and index your appearance when searched. You will need to use codes and techniques that the robots understand.

Here are some of the important things you need to check and maximize in your website to get most out of Google Search.

Content

By default, the more your site publishes good content time after time, and it's enabled to be found in Search Engines, users will surely find your page when searching. Good content entails enough words, meaningful paragraphs and well spelled sentences.

Meta Tags

Meta Tags clearly describe your website.
They give all the details necessary for indexing. Information such as your website heading, description and keywords are featured and easily read in Search Engines. Here is an example of ready to use meta tags. You will need to change the meta tags information in red with your own details.

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image"/>
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@MikeTsire"/>
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@MikeTsire"/>
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Tsireledzo Michael Blog"/>
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Tech Tips for Publishers, Bloggers Web designers."/>
<meta content='GOOGLE-WEBMASTER-CODE' name='google-site-verification'/>
<meta content='BING-WEBMASTER-CODE' name='msvalidate.01'/>
<meta content='Johannesburg, South Africa' name='geo.placename'/>
<meta content='YOUR-NAME' name='Author'/>
<meta content='general' name='rating'/>
<meta content='South Africa' name='geo.country'/><meta content='FACEBOOK-APP-ID' property='fb:app_id'/>
<meta content='FACEBOOK-ADMIN-ID' property='fb:admins'/>
These Tags are stored and saved inside your website or blog code,  usually HTML or PHP section.

URL Targeting

URLs are very powerful and useful for indexing. Usually, in a  blog post or article, the native blog system will generate a URL link for you. Yet the link will not be descriptive as necessary. A blog about a "New Android Operating System Oreo" may be automatically URL'd as http://news.co.za/2017/08/Android-blog-post-01.html,  this will not help in indexing and putting your article in top results. Your article may even get lost among hundreds of articles online that talks about Android and a blog post. Use your own created, descriptive and targeted URL. e.g  http://news.co.za/2017/08/Android-Released-New-Version-8.0-Oreo.html. This link will surely appear in multiple searches since it drags the "New Android Version", "Oreo Android" "Oreo 8.0" and "Android New released Android"

Creating your own permanent links in Blogger.com
Blogger Service and WordPress support this way of URL'ing. In side your new post at the right, you can access the blog settings and change the link to your custom and preferred URL.

Also avoid too many broken links on your codes. There more your pages are directed to a "Page not found 404" section, the more they will be ignored.

Site Maps

Site Map works as literally as any "map". They direct crawlers and robots to your website different routes. A website with a site map will surely be ranked top than the one without. Crawlers will not just take any data on the site but will look for direction in the site maps.

Sitemaps are free in most sites. You can generate your own site map and use on your website. You will need to be familiar or start to learn Google Web Master tools to effectively use the sitemaps. After you generate a sitemap, you will need to login to Google Web Master tools and add a sitemap link. Some of the sites that offer free site maps are https://www.xml-sitemaps.com, https://xmlsitemapgenerator.org/ and http://www.check-domains.com/sitemap/index.php
